In Bagnoli, the reclamation of the area in front of the landfill has officially begun, a historic project that marks the city's return to its forgotten waterfront. As the special commissioner and mayor of Bagnoli emphasizes, Napoli Gaetano Manfredi, “This is an important step towards restoring the sea to the city and giving the area a new lease of life, after years of waiting.”
The work involves a temporary consortium of companies that will handle marine remediation, excavation, and re-profiling of the seabed, as well as securing the landfill itself.
