Caserta – In San Cipriano d'Aversa, in the heart of the Agro Aversano, a symbol of the Casalesi criminal power is preparing to be reborn as a laboratory of legality and innovation. The approximately 13.500-square-meter area confiscated from the family of crime boss Michele Zagaria will become Italy's first incubator for social and youth enterprises, built on property seized from the Camorra.

The project, funded by the Ministry of the Interior through the POC Legalità 2014-2020 program, is managed by Agrorinasce, the Agency for Innovation, Development, and Territorial Security, which manages over 150 properties confiscated from organized crime in Caserta and its province. The initiative marks a concrete step in the strategy of productively reusing assets seized from clans, transforming former strongholds of mafia power into engines of growth and opportunity.

On April 30, a key moment for the project's launch is planned: the signing of the memorandum of understanding between Agrorinasce and the Campania Aerospace District (DAC), chaired by Luigi Carrino. The agreement will be signed by Agrorinasce CEO Gianni Allucci and President Maria Antonietta Troncone. The mayor of San Cipriano d'Aversa, Vincenzo Caterino, and the regional councilor for Security, Legality, and Immigration, Mario Morcone, will also attend the ceremony.

The agreement aims to promote training and technology transfer activities, fostering the creation of start-ups in the aeronautics and space sectors. Special attention will be paid to training new technical professionals and drone pilots for territorial control and monitoring, with a focus on safety and innovation.

"Returning these assets to the community, transforming them into tools for development, is the most concrete response to the logic of criminal power," Allucci has explained on several occasions, recalling how Agrorinasce's work represents a national model for managing confiscated assets.

The former Zagaria complex will thus become a symbolic place: from the headquarters of the Casalesi boss to a factory of ideas and opportunities for young people. A strong signal, confirming how assets seized from the Camorra can once again become fertile ground for legality, business, and the future of the region.
