Naples – The “MAKE PIZZA NOT WAR” campaign, promoted by Ecodigital Campania as part of the #NoFakeFood and #StopWar initiatives, was presented today at the Gran Caffè Gambrinus.
A project that combines the universal language of pizza with a message of peace and solidarity, a reminder of how authentic food can be a meeting point between people and a symbol of mutual respect.
The initiative will continue on October 29 and 30, 2025, when participating pizzerias – listed on the website www.ecodigitalcampania.it – will use “Make Pizza Not War” pizza boxes featuring graphics designed by Napolimania, while stocks last.
A simple gesture with great symbolic value, which transforms the everyday act of eating pizza into an opportunity to reflect on global issues such as peace, justice, and food security.
Over the two days, the participating pizzerias will invite customers and residents to share this message of hope and awareness, at a time when wars, crises, and inequalities continue to impact the way we produce and consume food.
The voices of the initiative
Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, president of the UniVerde Foundation and promoter of the Ecodigital network, commented:
Pizza is a great symbol of conviviality and unity. Creating this initiative helps relaunch it as a symbol of peace and solidarity, as well as, of course, good, fair food.
Luciano Pignataro, journalist and founder of the Luciano Pignataro Wine Blog, added:
We're living in a period of great instability, with problems that will weigh especially heavily on the younger generations. It's wonderful to see young people themselves taking the lead in projects like this, capable of uniting culture, tradition, and social commitment.
Christian Cutino, coordinator of Ecodigital Campania, underlined:
"Most people experiencing food insecurity live in countries affected by conflict. With this initiative, we want to remind people that food can be both a weapon and a symbol of peace, a shared social and political commitment."
