Napoli rejects the insinuations related to the interceptions published by Republic on the transfer of Victor Osimhen. With an official statement, the club's defense team – composed of lawyers Gino Fabio Fulgeri, Gaetano Scalise and Lorenzo Contrada – said it was "surprised" by the disclosure of investigative documents which, by law, should have remained confidential, denouncing a “violation of the principles of protection of defense and confidentiality”.
According to the lawyers, the content of the conversations that ended up in the newspapers was “extracted atomistically from a much broader context, which, if read in its entirety, reveals only the physiological dialectic of a normal market negotiation, devoid of criminally relevant aspects”.

The lawyers also recall that the interlocutors cited in the wiretaps have already been interviewed by the Public Prosecutors as persons informed of the facts, providing "specific and convincing explanations, such as to exclude any evidentiary relevance of the reported sentences." The case on capital gains for the purchase of osimhen continues to be a topic of discussion, but Napoli's defense reiterates: "No illegal plan, just a market operation managed in full compliance with the rules."

I don't know if it's right that the wiretaps were published. Napoli's lawyers are right to say that they were taken out of context. The law must always be respected, and confidentiality is important.
