Castellammare – Four gunshots fired in broad daylight, a chase, a car crash, and a brutal attack with a baseball bat.

This is the scene of the ambush that took place on July 30th in Castellammare di Stabia, in the Naples area, an episode that today led to the issuing of two precautionary prison measures against two suspects.

The order, signed by the Torre Annunziata preliminary investigations judge, concerns two men charged with attempted murder, illegal possession and carrying of a firearm, assault, and possession of improper weapons.

All crimes were committed in conjunction with each other and with a third person, who is still untraceable and has already been declared a fugitive following another precautionary measure issued by the Salerno District Anti-Mafia Office.

According to investigators' reconstruction, the victim initially managed to escape the shots fired at her by fleeing in her car.

The race, however, ended against a parked car: a fatal moment that allowed the attackers to reach her and hit her with kicks, punches and a baseball bat, before quickly disappearing in their car.

Investigators were able to reconstruct the dynamics of the ambush thanks to the testimonies collected and the analysis of video surveillance images installed in the area.

The evidence gathered led the State Police to identify the perpetrators: one of the two was located in the province of Salerno and transferred to the local prison, while the other was already being held at the Naples-Poggioreale prison for other crimes.

Investigations are continuing to track down the third member of the commando and clarify the motive for an attack that, given its nature and ferocity, has taken on the appearance of a real settling of scores.
