Castellammare di Stabia—Another workplace accident, yet another, has claimed a life and rekindled the spotlight on construction site safety. Late this afternoon, a 62-year-old worker, originally from Lettere, fell from a scaffolding approximately four meters high while carrying out construction work on a private villa in Castellammare di Stabia.
After the fall, the 62-year-old received emergency medical care and was transported to the Ospedale del Mare in Naples with a red code. His condition was immediately confirmed as very serious. According to reports, the man was admitted to intensive care and doctors declared his life in danger.
A large deployment of forces was immediately deployed on the spot.

Investigations underway to shed light on the matter
The Carabinieri are now reconstructing the sequence of events piece by piece. The primary objective is to determine the precise causes of the accident, the worker's position at the time of the fall, the validity of his contract, and, above all, to verify compliance with accident prevention regulations in the erection and use of the scaffolding.
This serious incident occurs within the context of the Naples province, and particularly the construction industry, where accidents, often fatal, are sadly a recurring and sad occurrence. This national emergency continues to claim victims, despite appeals and awareness campaigns, and today, once again, a worker with a lifetime of experience has been struck down.
The investigation must now shed light on what happened, to establish whether, this time too, as happens too often, the tragedy could have been avoided.
