A bridge between Naples and Beijing for a future of shared innovation. Città della Scienza hosted a delegation from the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST) on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, with the aim of strengthening scientific and technological collaboration between the two institutions. The meeting, part of the Italy-China Science, Technology, and Innovation Week, represented a decisive step toward the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding scheduled for November.
The Chinese delegation, led by President Wu Jianmin, was welcomed by the President of City of ScienceRiccardo Villari and his team. BJAST, one of China's leading research institutions, stands out for its expertise in strategic areas such as smart cities and healthcare. After discussing shared development strategies, the guests toured the Naples hub's main facilities, including the Congress Center, the Campania Newsteel incubator, and the Corporea interactive museum.
During the visit, some startups that are symbols of the dynamism of the Campania ecosystem were presented, such as Oxhy, specialized in oxyhydroelectric technologies, and Space frontier, committed to revolutionizing space propulsion through innovative bioplastics.

The meeting laid the foundation for concrete cooperation on crucial issues: technology transfer, dialogue between research and industry, youth training, and talent mobility. This context also includes: Manifattur@ Campania: Industry 4.0, the regional program that aims to support the digital transition of companies and create an environment favorable to innovation.
Central to this vision is the project Coworking 4.0, conceived as an international platform for startups and young researchers, where Italy, China and Mediterranean countries will be able to share experiences, knowledge and market opportunities. “With this initiative – declared Riccardo Villari – Città della Scienza consolidates Naples' role as a strategic Mediterranean hub for scientific and cultural cooperation. Building a stable bridge with China means investing in the future, innovation, and young talent.
