It was supposed to be a civil complaint against the degradation of the streets, but it turned into an incident that went viral on social media. Carmine Attanasio, emeritus city councilor of Napoli, fell ruinously to the Borgo Marinaro while, together with a friend who was filming him on his phone, he was showing the dangerous potholes in the area, which have become a daily risk for tourists and residents.
In the fall, Attanasio suffered a severe contusion to his wrist and a probable compound fracture of the middle finger.

Still in pain, Attanasio stopped a patrol of the Municipal police to report the danger and asked that the road be immediately cordoned off: “It's not enough to cover the largest potholes,” he explained, “we need to close the entire slope to prevent further falls.”

It's truly strange how a simple complaint can turn into such a major incident. The state of Naples' roads is serious and requires urgent action, not only for the well-being of residents but also for tourists.
