Dutch police described the Napoli fans as a "large group" with a "certain atmosphere": officers asked the fans to leave the city center, but their requests were apparently ignored.

The fans were then arrested for violating the municipal regulations regarding gatherings and were taken by bus to the Mathildelaan police station, where they will be questioned. Some of the people detained apparently did not have tickets for tonight's Champions League match between PSV and Napoli.

Eindhoven Mayor Jeroen Dijsselbloem had previously established a high-risk security zone for the match. This allowed police to conduct preventive searches in the city center and other areas of the city.
