A meeting meant to clarify disagreements over the marriage between two young people turned into a bloody tragedy. Dolores Dori , 44, originally from Vicenza and a resident of the Camponogara Roma camp , was hit by three bullets following an argument that erupted Thursday evening in Lonato del Garda , in front of the future couple's relatives. The woman, wounded in the abdomen, chest, and leg, was left for dead outside the emergency room of Desenzano hospital , where she died a few hours later during surgery.

Investigators from the Brescia Carabinieri , led by prosecutor Francesca Sassarellu , are investigating the case for murder and have identified the victim's father-in-law , who is on the run and is now a wanted man, as the primary suspect. According to initial reports, the meeting between the family clans quickly escalated: at least three gunshots were fired in front of Dolores's 16-year-old son.

The story took on even more disturbing overtones after a video of the victim's husband , brandishing a gun and threatening retaliation against the other family, spread on social media: "Bring my daughter back to me or we'll come get her," he said, fearing that the 23-year-old girl, who was engaged to be married, was being held against her will.

The Roma camp on Via Ferrarini in Lonato has been seized, while an Alfa Romeo Stelvio with false license plates, believed to be the vehicle used to transport the injured woman, was found in Mestre. Investigators are trying to reconstruct the shooting to determine whether it was a sudden act of passion or a premeditated act.

It's unbelievable that everything ended like this. Families should resolve disputes peacefully, not with violence, especially in front of young people.

The situation is very sad and makes one think about how conflicts can degenerate into violence. I wonder if there were any signs before this event. People's lives are precarious and shouldn't be wasted.

It's truly alarming that the situation has degenerated into a murder. I hope justice is served and that such things never happen again.
