A meeting that was meant to clarify the differences over the marriage between two young people turned into a bloody tragedy. Dolores Dori, 44 years old, originally from Vicenza and resident in the nomad camp of Camponogara, was hit by three bullets at the end of an argument that broke out on Thursday evening in Lonato, in front of the relatives of the future couple. The woman, wounded in the abdomen, chest and leg, was abandoned in a critical condition in front of the emergency room of thehospital of Desenzano, where she died a few hours later during surgery.

The investigators of the Carabinieri of Brescia, coordinated by the PM Francesca Sassarellu, are investigating for murder and have identified the main suspect as with father-in-law of the victim, on the run and now wanted.

According to initial reports, the meeting between the family clans quickly escalated: at least three gunshots were fired, including in front of Dolores's 16-year-old son.

The story has taken on even more disturbing overtones after the spread on social media of a video of the victim's husband, who brandished a gun and threatened retaliation against the other family: “Bring my daughter back to me or we'll come get her,” he said, fearing that the 23-year-old girl, who was engaged to be married, was being held against her will.

The nomad camp on Via Ferrarini in Lonato was seized, while an Alfa Romeo Stelvio with a false license plate, believed to be the car used to transport the injured woman, was found in Mestre. Investigators are trying to reconstruct the shooting to determine whether it was a sudden act of passion or a premeditated act.

It's unbelievable that everything ended like this. Families should resolve disputes peacefully, not with violence, especially in front of young people.

The situation is very sad and makes one think about how conflicts can degenerate into violence. I wonder if there were any signs before this event. People's lives are precarious and shouldn't be wasted.

It's truly alarming that the situation has degenerated into a murder. I hope justice is served and that such things never happen again.
