Castel Volturno – A flurry of acceleration and an attempt to weave through traffic on the Domiziana highway. Two women's attempt to evade a Carabinieri checkpoint yesterday afternoon along the highway, at the 42nd kilometer toward Naples, ended in a lightning chase and two reports.
The incident occurred around rush hour. A crew from the Mondragone Mobile Radio Unit, engaged in territorial patrol, ordered a Renault Clio to stop. A routine maneuver quickly turned into a full-blown attack. Instead of pulling over, the driver slammed on the accelerator, attempting to escape in the direction of Naples.
The run-up begins.

Two women were identified in the car: a 22-year-old from Calvizzano and a 41-year-old from Melito di Napoli, both with criminal records. They confessed to the officers the reason for their reckless act: they were well aware that their car had already been seized and feared the consequences of a repeat inspection.
This realization turned out to be a mockery. The Renault Clio was immediately seized and transferred to the warehouse of a partner company, this time in judicial custody. Now, in addition to legal problems for resisting a public official and traffic violations, the two women are also facing the loss of their vehicle.
The incident is part of the intensified patrols deployed by the Carabinieri along the entire Domitian coast, aimed not only at preventing crime but also at verifying the legality of vehicles in circulation, with particular attention to those already subject to restrictive measures. This activity, as in this case, uncovers situations of creeping illegality, often hidden in the flow of daily traffic.
