Naples - She had arranged to meet a client for sexual intercourse in an apartment rented by a friend in the Fuorigrotta neighborhood. But what was supposed to be a paid encounter turned into a half-hour of terror.
A 38-year-old woman from Caserta, who said she occasionally prostituted herself out of financial need, was raped by a man who allegedly demanded sex without payment.
According to the police report, the attack occurred on the night between Saturday and Sunday, at a residence on Via Sergio Bruni. The man, a 40-year-old from Pianura already known to law enforcement, had contacted the woman by phone and arranged to meet.
He showed up about an hour late and, as soon as he entered, he allegedly made it clear he didn't want to pay in advance. When the woman flatly refused, telling him "no way," the situation escalated.
Visibly intoxicated, the man allegedly pulled down his pants and then attacked the victim, forcing her to engage in sexual intercourse. The 38-year-old's screams failed to attract anyone's attention: she was alone in the house and at the mercy of her attacker until the man got dressed and drove away in his car.
Soon after, the woman called the police.

The episode, which had been reported by reporter Pino Grazioli during one of his nightly live broadcasts, caused particular alarm because it occurred just a few hours after another case of sexual violence in the city.
The previous night, in Piazza Enrico De Nicola, a 35-year-old woman had been attacked while returning home after a night out with friends. A 24-year-old French tourist, Alice Isabelle, intervened to save her. She witnessed the incident and called for help, along with two young men who managed to subdue the attacker: a 29-year-old Moroccan man, already known to law enforcement for property crimes and legally resident in Italy.
Two incidents in less than twenty-four hours have reignited security concerns in Naples, where law enforcement is intensifying nighttime patrols, especially in busy nightlife areas and suburban neighborhoods.
