The Naples Carabinieri Forestry Corps (FCN) continues its relentless checks on hunting activities in the province. In Salice, in the Giugliano in Campania region, officers from the Pozzuoli Forestry Corps , with the support of LIPU (Italian League for Wildlife and Game Protection) wildlife officers, caught two men engaged in an illegal hunt. The two were found in possession of electronic devices used to artificially reproduce the song thrush's song, a practice prohibited by Law 157 of 1992, which regulates hunting in Italy.
The Carabinieri seized two 12-gauge shotguns, six cartridges, three electromagnetic decoys complete with timers, SD cards, and speakers, as well as the body of a song thrush shot during the illegal activity. The offenders were also fined a total of over €400.
This intervention confirms the ongoing commitment of the Carabinieri Forestali and environmental associations to protecting wildlife and combating poaching practices that threaten the balance of the local ecosystem. The area remains highly vigilant, with targeted inspections to ensure compliance with hunting regulations.
