Rome – October 2025 is about to end under the banner of the most classic meteorological bipolarity, suspended between the last, burning memories of summer and the first, cold tastes of winter.
After a start dominated by sunshine and abnormal temperatures – which only last Sunday reached 35°C in Sicily – and a sudden taste of winter with snow up to 1700 metres in the Alps on Monday the 27th, the month bids farewell with a final, abrupt jolt.
It's coming, dubbed not coincidentally by meteorologists as the "Halloween Cyclone," a low-pressure vortex loaded with rain and thunderstorms that promises to drench the scariest holiday of the year.
But before the weather worsens, Italy will have a 48-hour window of mostly stable and mild weather. A respite provided by the temporary rise of a high pressure system.
Today and tomorrow: the last rays of sunshine before the storm
Tuesday, October 28th, therefore, promises to be dominated by sunshine across most of the peninsula.

Wednesday the 29th will also begin with good weather, but with gradually increasing cloud cover in the north and Tuscany during the day. Some drizzle may appear, but the real deterioration is expected only in the late evening. In central and southern Italy, however, the weather will remain pleasant, with highs reaching 22°C in Rome and Naples.
Thursday the 30th and Friday the 31st: The perfect Halloween storm
Starting Thursday, October 30th, the scene will be completely overrun by the "Halloween Cyclone." The low-pressure system, rising from the Atlantic Ocean after wetting Portugal, Spain, and France, will unleash its distinctly autumnal rains across much of the country.
The regions hardest hit in the first phase, as usual with these configurations, will be those in the North and the Tyrrhenian coast. On Friday the 31st, Halloween, the instability will also extend to the South and the Adriatic coast, with showers and thunderstorms that could jeopardize traditional trick-or-treating trips.
And after Halloween? The "trick-or-treat" prophecy
According to initial projections, the weekend could bring a surprise related to the holiday. While the most optimistic forecasts point to a return of sunshine as early as Saturday, November 1st, some models aren't ruling out the possibility of the cyclone playing a nasty trick, extending its unstable influence into the first few days of November.
A perfect Halloween reminder: if the little ones are generously gifted with sweets, the weather might be kind enough to reward us with a sunny weekend. Otherwise, the meteorological "trick" could still come knocking.

The article explains the weather situation well, but it seems a bit confusing, especially with the changes in temperature and weather conditions. I just hope there aren't too many problems for Halloween.
