During the meeting, ARPA Campania presented the initial results of its air quality surveys, which showed no exceedances of legal limits. The agency will conduct further investigations to determine the possible presence of pollutants in the land surrounding the depot.
The Prefect of Bari has ordered increased law enforcement controls, with particular attention to potential looting in the surrounding areas. The need to initiate thorough checks on all production activities in the area to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations has also been agreed upon.
Monitoring will continue on a weekly basis at the Prefecture, through a permanent coordination committee that will bring together representatives from the various agencies involved. The goal is to ensure constant and coordinated monitoring of the restoration of environmental conditions and the protection of public safety in the Gianturco area.

Today's meeting at the prefecture was important for the environmental situation in Gianturco, but more checks are needed because the air may still be polluted. We hope the measures are effective and swift.
