MADDALONI – A joint Carabinieri inspection led to the temporary closure of a restaurant and the reporting of the owner for serious violations of labor and food safety regulations. The operation, conducted on the morning of Friday, October 24, by officers from the Carabinieri Station Maddaloni together with colleagues from the NAS and the Labour Inspectorate of Caserta, discovered a series of irregularities within a restaurant located in Via Forche Caudine.
The investigations, launched after a preliminary inspection on October 16, revealed the presence of an undeclared, non-EU, and irregular worker in the country, as well as the failure of two employees to undergo mandatory medical examinations, in violation of workplace safety regulations.
During the inspection, the officers also found approximately thirty kilograms of frozen food without labels or information on its origin, stored in a chest freezer in the premises' warehouse.
