Pimonte – A trivial neighborhood dispute over the comings and goings of construction workers could have turned tragic. That's what happened last June 16th in the Lattari Mountains, where a 53-year-old man, exasperated by his neighbors' renovation work, allegedly threatened to kill them with a gun.
Today, a severe precautionary measure was taken against that man: he was banned from residing in the Municipality of Pimonte.
The fight over the laborers
The investigation, conducted by the Carabinieri of the local station and coordinated by the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office, revealed a climate of high tension. According to the prosecution, the 53-year-old was deeply annoyed by the transit of laborers hired by neighbors to perform work at their home.
That day in June, the protest would escalate.

The victims, in shock, immediately reported the incident to the Carabinieri. The officers launched an investigation, gathering testimonies from those present and reconstructing the events.
When questioned by investigators during preliminary questioning, the suspect provided a different version. While admitting to the heated argument with neighbors, he categorically denied owning a gun or using it to threaten them.
His defense, however, was not enough to halt the proceedings. The Prosecutor's Office, based on the evidence gathered—deemed "serious evidence of guilt" for the crimes of illegal possession and carrying of a weapon in a public place and serious threat—requested a precautionary measure.
The preliminary investigations judge of the Torre Annunziata Court, granting the request, issued an order prohibiting the 53-year-old from residing in his own municipality. This morning, the Carabinieri of Pimonte executed the order, serving the man with an order to leave the city.
