It seemed like a good deal, but it turned out to be just another online scam. Two citizens of theAvellino, residents of Parolise and Chiusano San Domenico respectively, paid a total of €2.600 to purchase car engines listed for sale on a well-known e-commerce site. However, after the bank transfers, the engines were nowhere to be found.
The victims, realizing they had been scammed, contacted the Carabinieri, who immediately began an investigation.
