NAPLES – First accepted, then rejected because he has a disability. This is the story reported by lawyers Angelo and Sergio Pisani, who are representing a Neapolitan family at the center of a case that raises serious questions about respect for children's rights and school inclusion.
According to the lawyers, the incident occurred at the Naples branch of the English Adventures srl (British Institutes Napoli Vomero) language institute, where a child with a disability who had been regularly attending English language courses for three years was denied enrollment renewal.
"The management," Pisani's lawyers explain, "communicated to the family that the school would be unable to manage him in the classroom, a reason we consider extremely serious and contrary to every principle of civility, as well as to the rules on inclusive education."
The minor, the lawyers say, had always participated happily and profitably in school activities, without any problems with his cohabitation or performance. Yet, when he was about to renew his enrollment for the new year, the school reportedly suddenly and without any plausible justification for its refusal.
Although the family offered to provide a support educator at their own expense, the school's management also rejected this solution. "An incomprehensible closure," the lawyers commented, "which aggravates the violation of the child's and his parents' dignity."
For this reason, lawyers Angelo and Sergio Pisani sent a formal formal notice to the institute, requesting:
public apology for what happened;
compensation for moral and material damages suffered by the family;
the adoption of internal training and organizational review measures to prevent similar incidents from happening again.

The matter has also been reported to the Ministry of Education, the Campania Regional School Office, and the Regional Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents, who may now initiate investigations.
"Inclusion," the lawyers emphasize, "is not a favor, but a moral and legal duty. An institution that calls itself educational cannot close its doors to a child simply because they have a disability. This is a dark chapter for Naples and for Italian schools."
The case, now at the center of public attention, reignites the debate on the right to education and the need to ensure equal opportunities for minors with disabilities in every educational setting, whether public or private.
