This is the alarm raised by doctors at the Santobono Pediatric Hospital in Naples, where a two-year-old girl was rushed to the emergency room on Sunday evening after ingesting a dose of hashish.
The incident, which occurred in Torre del Greco, is the third case of cannabinoid poisoning in very young children recorded at the facility in less than two weeks, beginning on September 23rd.
The symptoms, violent and unmistakable, immediately alarmed the medical staff: vomiting, profound drowsiness, and slowed reflexes—symptoms consistent with drug use. "She's only two years old: she had taken drugs," confirmed the toxicology tests performed in the emergency room, which revealed a high concentration of THC (the active ingredient in cannabis) in the little girl's blood.

The man told officers that he had stolen several small blocks of hashish from his employees and placed them in their pants pockets. The pants, left unattended at home, were then accessed by the girl, who chewed and ingested the substance.
