Naples – Joint forces raid in the heart of Vomero to keep weekend nightlife under control.

Yesterday evening, the State Police, with the support of the Guardia di Finanza, the Local Police, and technicians from ASL Napoli 1 Centro, carried out a targeted checkpoint in the busiest areas of the hilltop neighborhood, from Via Scarlatti to Via Luca Giordano, up to Piazza Vanvitelli, Piazza Medaglie d'Oro, and San Martino.

The initiative is part of a plan implemented by the Naples Police Headquarters to combat illegal activity and ensure greater security in nightlife areas, which are often the scene of episodes of degradation or petty crime on weekends.

Controls and sanctions

During the operation, the officers identified 48 people, eight of whom had criminal records, and checked 29 vehicles, recording 14 traffic violations.

At the same time, the checks also focused on commercial establishments in the area: a total of 14 businesses—including bars, pubs, and restaurants—were inspected.
ASL inspectors found several health and hygiene irregularities and deficiencies in administrative documentation.

Fines totaling approximately €3.000 were imposed, and corrective measures were imposed on owners for various violations, from waste management to food safety obligations.

The operation they've carried out in Vomero seems significant, but more controls are needed. There are often safety and cleanliness issues; the clubs should pay more attention to these matters to protect everyone.
