Naples– A fireworks serenade turned into a blaze that nearly turned tragic. The Spanish Quarters erupted in a night of madness, with rockets crackling and flames licking one of the symbols of the historic center's rebirth: the Foqus Foundation. On the pavement, in front of the blackened façade, the signs of a degenerate celebration remain: debris, torn electrical cables, the stench of burning still mingling with the smell of gunpowder.
The fire, presumably sparked by the reckless use of fireworks to celebrate the name day of a relative of a well-known TikTok user from Santa Lucia—already infamous for the controversy surrounding illegal mooring—ravaged the entire area overnight. The flames, which started in the paper recycling bins, quickly engulfed the perimeter wall and the main entrance of the Foundation, threatening the entire complex.
"All this happened after midnight." This reconstruction comes from a report sent to MP Francesco Borrelli, which captures the gravity of the incident. "The TikTok user's relatives... celebrated a name day with fireworks last night. The result: gas pipes were out of order; a fire broke out, and vehicles went up in flames."
The damage was extensive: the fury of the flames damaged the gas line and the electrical supply, cutting the main cable. Machines were reduced to smoking wreckage, a blackened facade, and the fear of what could happen next.
What makes the incident even more serious is the nature of the place hit.

"Setting fires in a residential area, resulting in such serious damage to a complex housing a thousand children, is an act of unprecedented stupidity and irresponsibility, bordering on criminality." The words of MP Borrelli sound like an indictment. "We are witnessing yet another demonstration of the out-of-control nature of the criminal and reckless use of fireworks."
The politician called on law enforcement to identify and severely punish those responsible for what turned from a "serenade" into a criminal act. "It is unacceptable that a place of rebirth and legality like the Foqus Foundation should become the target of these extremely dangerous pranks. It's time to say enough: we need zero tolerance."
The final appeal is a cry of alarm for a city that can no longer tolerate such outbursts: "The institutions must act immediately against this uncontrolled madness." A call for justice rising from the smoking rubble of a night Naples will never forget.

It's incredible how a simple party can turn into such a disaster. There should be more controls on those who use fireworks, especially in areas where there are children. It's not right.
