Naples - A vandalism raid last night targeted one of the symbolic locations on the Naples waterfront.
A 31-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement, has been reported by the State Police for damaging the window of a business on Via Caracciolo, in what could be just the latest in a series of criminal acts affecting businesses in the area.
The alarm was raised during the night, when the San Ferdinando Police Station Operations Room received an urgent report: a man was vandalizing the entrance to a restaurant in the heart of the tourist area. Officers, already engaged in patrolling the area, responded immediately.
The timely intervention of the patrol cars
At the scene, the police found the entrance door of the commercial premises seriously damaged.

The suspicion: it might not be an isolated case
The incident on Via Caracciolo may be just the latest in a series of criminal incidents affecting businesses in the area. The State Police have launched an in-depth investigation to determine any possible connections to other similar incidents recently reported in the same neighborhood.
The investigation is focusing on reconstructing the exact circumstances of the events and determining the 31-year-old's possible responsibility for other similar thefts and damages that occurred in nearby streets.
The timely intervention of officers from the San Ferdinando Police Station prevented a repeat of the vandalism, but the incident once again raises the issue of safety in the city center, a popular destination for both Neapolitans and tourists.
