Naples - Adrenaline rushes, sirens blaring, and a "Fast and Furious"-style high-speed chase last night through the streets of Ponticelli. But it was a significant achievement, as the Carabinieri arrested two drug dealers.

They are Andrea Miele, 25 years old, born in Naples on June 22, 2000, and Andrea Parisi, 22 years old, born on April 27, 2003, both originally from Ponticelli.

Stopped for a routine check at the border between San Giovanni a Teduccio and Ponticelli, the young men ignored the patrol's stop signal, starting a race that ended on Via Velotti.

In the car, officers found 70 grams of cocaine hidden in the 25-year-old's underwear and 14 small bags of marijuana in the younger man's fanny pack, as well as cash believed to be the proceeds of illicit trafficking. Arrested for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, the two are awaiting trial in prison.

The service also resulted in four reports to the Prefecture for young drug users and 27 traffic fines for dangerous driving or minor traffic violations. These checks aren't just about repression, but prevention: San Giovanni a Teduccio deserves safety for its families and all the honest people who live there.

It's a situation that raises questions about how young people can be influenced by drugs. Controls are necessary, but more in-depth intervention is also needed to help these young people find different, better paths.
