Naples - A logistics company only on paper, a constant flow of drugs from Spain to the streets of Naples and Caserta, and a well-organized group of men ready to run the business as if it were a private enterprise.
This is the picture reconstructed by the Carabinieri of the Naples Investigative Unit, who at dawn executed a precautionary custody order against five people.
The operation, coordinated by District Anti-Mafia Directorate Neapolitan, is the result of a long and complex investigation that has allowed the unmasking of an organization dedicated to international trafficking of drugs.
The five arrested are seriously suspected of being part of a criminal organization aimed at drug trafficking and dealing, aggravated by the presence of more than ten members.
According to investigators' reconstruction, the group operated between January 2019 and May 2020, moving between the metropolitan city of Naples, the Neapolitan hinterland, and the province of Caserta.

The company, apparently active in the logistics sector, was in reality a cover created specifically to guarantee the transportation and distribution of narcotics.
The investigations, which included wiretaps and other technical investigations, allowed us to delineate the roles of the various members of the group and reconstruct the entire trafficking chain, from procurement to delivery to the drug dealing centers.
During the investigation, a total of approximately 102 kilograms of narcotics were seized.
A heavy blow for the organization, but also further confirmation of how drug trafficking between Spain and Campania remains one of the main routes of European drug trafficking.

The operation the Carabinieri conducted seems very interesting and important, but I wonder if it's enough to stop drug trafficking. There are many other people involved and the situation is complicated, so I don't know if there will be any improvement.
