Naples - A 19-year-old man, already known to law enforcement for specific criminal convictions, was arrested in Naples on charges of illegal possession of narcotics and ammunition. The operation was conducted by officers from the San Giovanni-Barra Police Station.
The arrest was triggered when officers noticed the 19-year-old get out of a car and enter the courtyard of a building, only to re-enter shortly thereafter. Upon seeing the officers, the young man attempted a desperate escape to evade detection, but was caught and subdued with some difficulty.
The immediate search led to the discovery of two doses of marijuana and 410 euros in banknotes of various denominations, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.

The search was extended to the motorcycle: hidden inside, officers discovered 65 bags of marijuana, weighing approximately 178 grams. The doses, similar to those used for "light" marijuana—and also illegal in that context—confirmed the suspicion of drug dealing.
The real turning point came with the house search: eight 7,65 caliber cartridges, ammunition for common firearms and war weapons, were found hidden inside a closet in the suspect's home.
The 19-year-old was subsequently arrested and faces serious charges of illegal possession of drugs and ammunition, a dangerous combination that highlights the close connection between petty crime and the availability of weapons in the urban fabric. Investigations are continuing to determine the origin of the ammunition and the possible drug dealing network.
