Naples – A new, dramatic episode of gender-based violence has occurred in the heart of Naples, in Santa Lucia, demonstrating once again how obsession and contempt for personal freedoms can lead to serious crimes, despite restrictive measures.
During the night, the State Police arrested a 40-year-old man of Ukrainian origin, caught red-handed while attempting to force entry into his ex-partner's home, clearly violating the restraining order he was already under.
The scene unfolded before the eyes of officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, who responded promptly after a call to the Operations Room reported a family dispute in progress.
When they arrived at the scene, the police found the man clearly agitated and trying to break into the house, threatening the woman inside.

What might appear to be a "simple" attempted break-in actually takes on the character of a much more serious crime given the previous offenses. The investigations conducted at the time confirmed what the screams and threats had suggested: the man was already under a precautionary measure requiring him to leave the family home and be prohibited from approaching places frequented by his ex-partner.
A protective measure that has found its concrete expression in the action of the Police, called upon to enforce the law and protect women from an escalation of violence that has unfortunately become all too common.
For this reason, the 40-year-old was arrested and taken to prison for judicial review. The Santa Lucia incident is not an isolated case, but rather part of an alarming trend of reports that too often sees former partners subjected to harassment and assault.
This timely arrest by law enforcement is a warning about the importance of reporting and the need for protective measures to be supported by constant and responsive surveillance, transforming paper restrictions into a real and insurmountable barrier.
