NOLA – A 53-year-old worker from the province of Foggia is in critical condition and in danger of dying after a dramatic fall from a two-meter high scaffolding.
The accident, which occurred yesterday evening at the construction site of a new store in the Vulcano Buono shopping center, prompted emergency services and law enforcement to intervene, effectively launching an investigation into the circumstances and safety conditions at the site.
It was still evening when the quiet of a warehouse under construction was shattered by the force of the fall. The man, a 53-year-old from Puglia, was busy assembling shelving when, for reasons currently unknown, he fell from the height of a scaffolding structure.
On the spot, as if by reflex, the rescue machine was activated.

But his condition, likely too critical for the Nola facility, necessitated a further, dramatic transfer. Around 5:00 this morning, the worker was taken to the Ospedale del Mare, where he is currently in intensive care. His life hangs by a thread.
To shed light on what happened, in addition to the Carabinieri, specialized personnel from the Workplace Safety Service of the ASL Napoli 3 Sud also intervened. The technicians, with the approach of an inspector who leaves nothing to chance, examined the scene of the crime, reconstructing the movements that led to the tragedy.
A meticulous operation that concluded with the precautionary seizure of a section of the scaffolding, considered crucial to understanding the cause of the collapse. This seal serves to preserve the truth, pending the results of the expert assessments.
Now, as the worker's life hangs in the balance, the questions that follow every workplace accident remain unanswered. What caused the fall? A false move, a fragile structure, a moment of distraction? Questions that only the investigation will answer.
