A nightmare of abuse and family degradation, played out within the confines of their home and interrupted only by the desperate courage of a young girl. Carabinieri officers from the Monreale Company have executed an arrest warrant against a cohabiting couple: a 30-year-old man and his 44-year-old partner, the victims' mother.
The accusation, coordinated by the Palermo Public Prosecutor's Office, is terrifying: sexual acts with a minor, aggravated by a context of unimaginable psychological and physical violence.
The call that revealed the horror
The one who broke the veil of silence and social isolation into which the family had fallen was the woman's biological daughter. With extraordinary determination, the little girl managed to contact the Telefono Azzurro emergency number. She shared a dramatic and chilling story with the operators: she and her slightly older brother, also the arrested woman's biological son, were allegedly forced by the couple to actively participate in their sexual acts.
A testimony that describes a scenario of perversion and oppression, where the roles of parent and tormentor have merged.
The intervention and the investigations
Understanding the extreme seriousness of the report, the Telefono Azzurro operators immediately alerted the Carabinieri.

Under the coordination of the Prosecutor's Office, the military initiated targeted technical operations (presumably wiretaps and monitoring) that allowed them to reconstruct the profoundly degraded context in which the minors lived. The investigations revealed the contours of a family situation marked not only by systematic sexual abuse, but also by profound isolation that prevented the children from seeking outside help.
At the end of the investigation, the Carabinieri arrested the couple. During the searches, the officers seized the apartment where the violence allegedly took place.
Cell phones, personal computers, and other IT equipment were also seized and are now being examined by specialists analyzing the digital content to find further evidence of abuse.
The top priority was securing the victims' safety. The two children were immediately removed from the toxic environment and placed in a protected community, where they will receive the psychological support they need to overcome the trauma. The mother and her partner were transferred to the "Lorusso-Pagliarelli" prison in Palermo, which is at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
