Naples, 16 October 2025 – Porta Capuana still under the scrutiny of the State Police. Following the recent news events in the area, the Police Headquarters Napoli has intensified checks and yesterday evening arrested a 35-year-old of Gambian origin, an illegal immigrant in the country and with several police records, including for drug dealing and resisting a public official.
The man was stopped by officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue in Piazza San Francesco di Paola, after a passerby reported being threatened and chased.

When searched, the man was found in possession of a knife and 41 Rivotril pills, a substance often used as a street drug. The checks also revealed that he had already been issued an expulsion order, which he had not complied with. The 35-year-old was arrested for resisting arrest and assaulting a public official, possession of narcotics, and possession of offensive objects, and charged with violating immigration laws.
