Pozzuoli – Tense moments erupted Wednesday morning at the ASL Napoli 2 Nord health center in Monterusciello, where a 51-year-old woman, already known to law enforcement, went on a rampage, assaulting healthcare workers and damaging some of the facility's furnishings.
According to the reconstruction of the incident by officers from the Pozzuoli Police Station who responded to the scene, the woman—for reasons still under investigation, but related to an argument over reservations or waiting times—suddenly began cursing the counter staff, violently hitting a plexiglass partition on the reception desk.
Not satisfied with her destructive outburst, the 51-year-old then verbally and physically attacked one of the two employees, who suffered minor bruises.

Officers, who quickly arrived on the scene, took statements from the victims and began searching for the woman, locating her shortly thereafter at her home. She was taken to the police station and charged at liberty with aggravated damage and personal injury.
The two healthcare facility employees were assisted by their colleagues and filed a formal complaint. Meanwhile, the ASL management expressed solidarity with the staff involved, recalling "the importance of respecting those who provide essential services to citizens every day."
Unfortunately, the episode is part of a long series of attacks and acts of violence that in recent months have involved healthcare workers in various facilities in Campania, a phenomenon that continues to cause concern and raises the urgent need for greater protection and safety measures in places of public care and assistance.
