NAPLES – Clampdown on separate waste collection in NapoliThe Local Police, in collaboration with the Asia inspectors, fined five business owners who were caught not separating waste correctly and displaying the assigned bins in an irregular manner.
The checks focused on the heart of the city, between Via Paladino, Via San Biagio dei Librai, and Piazza Dante, where two residents were also fined for illegal waste disposal.

The man was fined for illegal selling, occupation of public land, and exposing food to the elements. The merchandise, approximately 49 kilos of fruit and vegetables, was seized and disposed of directly on site in an Asia compactor.

It's a bit strange that the local police are only carrying out these checks now, when there are so many problems in the city. Recycling is important, but citizens need more education, not just fines.
