A violent robber was arrested in San Giorgio a Cremano after kicking and punching a woman to steal her purse.

The attack on Via Cupa San Michele: 23-year-old Fausto Boccia was identified thanks to video surveillance images.

San Giorgio a Cremano - A night of terror ended with the swift arrest of a young robber, guilty of violently attacking a 56-year-old woman and snatching her purse.

Carabinieri officers from the San Giorgio a Cremano station arrested Fausto Boccia, a 23-year-old local man already known to law enforcement, on charges of attempted robbery and assault.

The incident, which shattered the tranquility of the community, occurred a few hours earlier on Via Cupa San Michele. The victim, while walking, was suddenly approached, grabbed, and then violently thrown to the ground by the criminal.

Not satisfied, the robber continued his criminal act, attacking the woman with kicks and punches in a desperate attempt to steal her bag.

The courage of a passerby and the Carabinieri raid

The timely intervention of a passerby was crucial in stopping the brutal attack, as his reaction put the bandit to flight, preventing the robbery from being carried out.

The Carabinieri intervened immediately, launching a thorough investigation. By quickly analyzing video surveillance footage in the area and gathering testimonies from those present, law enforcement was able to close in on the 23-year-old. The raid began shortly thereafter at Boccia's home, where the man was located and arrested.

During the operation, the military found and seized the clothing presumed to have been used by the young man to commit the violent attack.

The 23-year-old is now being held in prison awaiting judicial orders. The victim, treated by emergency medical personnel, was treated and, although in shock, fortunately did not suffer serious injuries.
