Naples. A 44-year-old man of Pakistani origin, an illegal immigrant, was arrested yesterday by the State Police on charges of aggravated theft and resisting arrest. The incident occurred near Piazza San Francesco, where officers responded to the cries of an elderly victim.
The incident occurred while a patrol from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station was conducting a routine patrol. The officers' attention was drawn to the desperate screams of an elderly man who, due to obvious mobility issues, was particularly vulnerable.
The police responded quickly and assisted the man, who immediately reported that his cell phone had just been stolen. The elderly man was able to identify the thief's escape route: a man who was running away quickly in the direction of Via Carriera Grande.
At that point, the officers immediately began a chase.

For these reasons—the theft committed against an elderly individual and his resistance—the suspect was arrested. The cell phone was immediately returned to its rightful owner, bringing the matter to a close with the perpetrator's arrest and the return of the stolen property.
The 44-year-old, in addition to being charged with aggravated theft (given the victim's vulnerability) and resisting a public official, will also have to answer for his illegal status on national territory.

The article discusses a serious incident in Naples, but there are many issues to consider. First and foremost, the safety of citizens, and then the issue of immigration. More attention is needed in these situations.
