Macciardi's appointment, already a prominent figure in the national theater scene, comes amidst ongoing internal tensions and legal challenges. Mayor Manfredi, opposed to the appointment, challenged the Board of Directors' decision, which had outvoted him in the August 26 vote. However, the civil court has already rejected the Foundation's president's first appeal, upholding the validity of Macciardi's appointment and the ministerial decree signed by Alessandro Giuli. The appeal to the Regional Administrative Court (TAR) and the hearing on the merits in the civil court remain pending.
The rift within the Board of Directors remains evident: on one side, Manfredi and Metropolitan City representative Maria Grazia Falciatore; on the other, councilors Marilù Faraone Mennella, Giovanni Francesco Nicoletti (Ministry of Economics), and Riccardo Realfonzo (Campania Region), who supported Macciardi's appointment. Realfonzo himself, commenting on the appointment, expressed satisfaction: The president and the new superintendent signed the contract shortly before it was approved unanimously. I hope the dispute will be resolved soon. It was also decided, again unanimously, that Maria Luisa Faraone Mennella and I will assume the positions of vice president of the Board of Directors. I am honored by this trust.
