He's 53 years old, has no criminal record, and until a few weeks ago, he was leading a normal life. Then he was fired, the economic crisis hit, and a desperate decision was made: to turn to drug dealing to survive. This is the story of a man of Castellammare di Stabia, arrested last night in Sant'Agnello by the Carabinieri of the local station.

The man was spotted in Piazza Matteotti, in front of the Circumvesuviana stop.

He was walking toward a group of drug addicts, but realized too late that he was being watched: his alleged clients moved away as soon as they saw his uniforms. The officers stopped him and found him in possession of six doses of cocaine, ready to be sold.

Before the Carabinieri, the man immediately confessed. He said he had been fired about a month ago and didn't know how to continue. He admitted that he only wanted to "make some money" out of that small illegal business. He is now under house arrest and faces charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
