Sant'Anastasia - What the Carabinieri from the local station discovered yesterday in a home's backyard wasn't your typical home garden. Instead of tomatoes and lettuce, a sophisticated clandestine greenhouse housed a small, locally grown marijuana plantation, complete with a technologically advanced cultivation system.
The high-tech greenhouse
At the center of the operation was the home of Antonio Capone, a 35-year-old local man already known to law enforcement. During the search, officers found a specially constructed structure in the garden.
Not just a simple cover, but a perfectly designed greenhouse, equipped with a timer-controlled lighting system and fans for air exchange, which guaranteed the ideal conditions for the growth of six marijuana plants, which had already grown to a height of between 1,40 and 1,70 meters.

The loot: over 4 kilos of drugs
The most significant discovery, however, wasn't outside. Inside the home, the Carabinieri found a large quantity of already processed and market-ready narcotics: 800 grams of marijuana inflorescences ready for sale and another 3.3 kilos of the same substance in the final drying phase.
Faced with the evidence of the seized material, the 35-year-old was arrested and taken to the Naples prison. Antonio Capone, born in Massa di Somma (Naples) on September 27, 1990, is charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, a crime that carries severe penalties given the large quantities recovered.
The operation demonstrates how the phenomenon of domestic cultivation of narcotics is becoming increasingly widespread, with methods that make use of increasingly advanced technologies, while remaining in the crosshairs of law enforcement.

The article talks about a strange discovery in a man's garden. I don't understand how people can grow marijuana so close to their homes, especially with technology. It's an interesting case, but also worrying.
