Her heart had stopped beating. Some passersby, noticing the commotion, immediately alerted the emergency number 112.
Within minutes, Carabinieri officers from the Sant'Arpino station arrived on the scene. A tense scene awaited them: a nurse, who happened to be there, was already desperately performing CPR on the woman. When her strength began to fail, the officers took over, continuing CPR under the supervision of the family doctor, who had arrived in the meantime.
