The "dealer" of the stolen motorcycles has been discovered: 28 cars hidden in containers between Giugliano and Casoria.

An investigation sparked by a night of violence in Giugliano in Campania led the Carabinieri to dismantle what appears to be a veritable "dealership" of stolen motorcycles.

The discovery was made by the military personnel of the Varcaturo station, who found 28 large-engine motorcycles in a warehouse in Casoria, all stolen between Rome and Naples and ready to be shipped abroad.

It all began on September 27, when two men of Ghanaian origin, aged 47 and 45, were stopped after a hectic night in Giugliano. Upon seeing the officers, the two resisted, even biting one of the Carabinieri.

Two stolen high-powered motorcycles were found in the van they were traveling in, which led to their arrest for resisting a public official, assault, and receiving stolen goods.

The episode could have ended there, but the Carabinieri were not satisfied.

They decided to follow the lead to the end, investigating the two arrested men's ties to a larger group of compatriots suspected of being involved in systematic trafficking of stolen vehicles.

The investigation focused on a 37-year-old Ghanaian man believed to be close to the two arrested in September. After days of stakeouts, officers located the man in a van with two other suspects. The vehicle was followed to Casoria, in an isolated industrial area on Via Lufrano, dotted with shipping containers.

There, the three unloaded a Honda Africa Twin from the van, which they were about to put into one of the containers. At that point, the Carabinieri intervened: two suspects managed to escape, while the 37-year-old was apprehended after attempting to escape over a wall.

During a search of the area, officers discovered 28 motorcycles hidden in two separate containers. The vehicles, from brands such as Honda, Yamaha, BMW, and Kawasaki, were disassembled, wrapped in cellophane, and ready for export. The total value of the haul exceeds €600.

Investigations revealed that the motorcycles had been stolen in the metropolitan areas of Rome and Naples, likely on commission. The 37-year-old was arrested for conspiracy to steal, while investigations continue to identify the accomplices and reconstruct the vehicle export network.
