Naples - The dawn of an ordinary Sunday in October is tinged with yellow and red in Secondigliano. The ordinariness of a car accident, one of those that happen every day, is shattered by two gunshots.

This is the scene they arrived at. police of the Operations Unit of the Napoli Stella Company and those of the Secondigliano station, an intervention that was triggered after an emergency call on Via Diacona, at the intersection with Via Fratta.

The dynamics: from the accident to the ambush

The victim is a 20-year-old local man, with no criminal record until yesterday, who was driving his car. His fault? Colliding with another vehicle. While the two drivers were likely about to exchange personal details or discuss the damage, the situation escalated unexpectedly and brutally.

According to a first, summary reconstruction by the military, a man not involved in theaccident he would have approached the young man.

For no apparent reason, the man pulled out a gun and fired two shots, aimed at the boy's legs, before fleeing, swallowed up by the streets of the neighborhood.

An attack that seems like a punishment, a "warning" delivered with lead. But the motive remains a mystery. Why target a young man involved in a simple accident? Is there more to it?

Investigators aren't ruling anything out. Perhaps the accident was merely the spark that ignited a pre-existing resentment. Or perhaps it was an act of intimidation for reasons completely unrelated to the minor traffic incident.

The investigations: the wall of silence

The 20-year-old was rushed to Cardarelli Hospital. Fortunately for him, his condition is not critical: he was discharged with a prognosis of 15 days. Two bullets to the legs, a very clear message, but one that did not affect his life irreparably. A "warning," indeed.

The ball is now in the Carabinieri's court, who have launched an investigation to unravel the mystery. They are combing the area for witnesses and any surveillance cameras that may have captured the gunman's face or his escape.

It's true, the situation is worrying. Violence shouldn't be the solution to trivial problems like a car accident. We hope the investigation leads to something concrete and justice is served.

The Secondigliano incident seems like a complicated case to solve, but it's strange that no one saw the shooter. Perhaps there are things we don't know; people are afraid to speak out, and that's a problem.
