Santa Maria la Fossa – A livestock farm has been targeted by the Carabinieri, who have ordered a complete lockdown after discovering an illegal mini-landfill on the property.
The operation, which took place this morning, saw the deployment of men from the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Company, supported by special teams from the NAS and NOE and by technicians from the ASL.
The seizure and the violations
The inspection, initiated to verify compliance with health, hygiene, and environmental regulations, immediately uncovered a series of critical issues. The most serious situation emerged in a perimeter area of the property, where officers discovered and immediately seized a pile of non-hazardous special waste covering an area of approximately 60 square meters.

The investigations and the repressive framework
The company owner, a 38-year-old local man, was charged at large with the crime of uncontrolled waste disposal. The Santa Maria Capua Vetere Public Prosecutor's Office has been informed and will coordinate the next investigation to determine who is responsible.
The operation is part of a campaign of extraordinary controls launched by the Carabinieri in the Caserta agri-food sector, a historically fragile area in terms of both environmental and legality.
The stated objective is twofold: to target environmental criminals and illegal businesses that, by polluting or operating in unhygienic conditions, jeopardize public health and distort competition.
