Naples – A blitz by the Municipal Police today devastated the area around the mural of Diego Armando Maradona in the Spanish Neighborhoods, a destination for thousands of tourists and fans every year. During the operation, T-shirts, merchandise, and five unlicensed drinks carts were seized. The chapel dedicated to Maradona memorabilia and statues was covered, leaving only the large mural and the six-meter statue recently donated by an Argentine artist visible.
The authorities prohibited access to the area and proceeded to seize two commercial establishments, one food and one non-food, for the lack of proper authorization, imposing administrative fines of 5.

The operation led to many seizures of merchandise, but I wonder if this is really the right way to handle the situation. Tourists come for Maradona, but without the shirts, it's not the same. I think there should have been a more balanced approach.
