Naples – A silent tailing, beginning in the streets of eastern Naples and ending at the edge of the province, allowed the Carabinieri to arrest a suspected drug dealer and seize nearly a kilo of hashish.
The person arrested was Rabia El Khalfi, 41, already known to the police, on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
The stalking from Poggioreale to Casoria
It all started when a patrol from the Naples Poggioreale Company's Operations Unit noticed a suspicious car slowly driving through the neighborhood. The man behind the wheel appeared to be searching for someone or something, moving with uncertain movements, typical of someone about to meet a buyer or an accomplice.
The officers, in an unmarked car, decided to follow him unnoticed. The tailing lasted several minutes, until the vehicle headed toward Casoria, leaving the city limits behind.
When the driver got out of the car to return to his apartment, the raid began.

The discovery in the closet
The search yielded an immediate positive result. In a small room of the residence, hidden among boxes and old clothing, the officers found eight blocks of hashish weighing a total of 820 grams.
Next to it were a precision scale and various packaging materials, typical tools of drug dealing.
Furthermore, €1.050 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug sales, was found in the bedroom nightstand. All the material was seized.
El Khalfi was arrested in flagrante delicto and transferred to Poggioreale prison, where he was held at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
He will have to answer for possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing, while the Carabinieri continue their investigations to reconstruct the network of contacts and the channels of supply of the substance.
From the eastern area to the province: a new drug dealing route
The operation confirms the military's attention to drug movements between the neighborhoods of eastern Naples – from Poggioreale to Barra and Ponticelli – and the hinterland municipalities such as Casoria and Arzano, now part of a stable distribution network.
According to investigative sources, many pushers operate on a dual basis, with hidden warehouses outside the city to reduce the risk of checks. Hashish, marijuana, and cocaine are transported in small cars, often unsuspectingly, while checks are increasingly focused on nocturnal movements and connections to the drug dealing hubs of the city's major clans.

The article discusses a major operation by the Carabinieri. It's interesting to see how they're working to stop drug trafficking. But there's a lot we don't know about this type of trafficking and how it actually works.
