Anti-drug operation at dawn between Portico di Caserta, Recale, and Casagiove. Carabinieri officers from the Santa Maria Capua Vetere branch executed three precautionary measures—one detention, one house arrest, and one requiring them to report to the judicial police—against three suspects accused, on various counts, of possession and trafficking of narcotics.
The order, issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere at the request of the local prosecutor's office, represents the outcome of a complex investigative activity conducted by the military of the Macerata Campania Station between December 2023 and July 2024.

Investigative reconstructions revealed that the drugs were purchased from a foreign national, believed to be the primary supplier, and then sold to several buyers, including the manager of a bar in Macerata, Campania. According to investigators, the manager resold the drugs with the help of an accomplice, in some cases allowing them to be consumed within the same business.
Investigations are continuing to clarify the supply network and individual responsibilities. It should be noted that the proceedings are still in the preliminary investigation phase and that the suspects are presumed innocent until a final verdict is reached. The precautionary measures were adopted following a limited adversarial process, and the trial judge will determine whether or not criminal liability exists.

This anti-drug operation is a very serious and important event for our community. We hope the investigation yields concrete results and that those responsible pay for their actions. It's hard to believe something like this is happening in places we know well.
