The seafront of Salerno, one of the city's iconic landmarks, is back in the news. A man was arrested by the State Police for drug dealing and resisting a public officer after being caught on Via Lungomare Trieste, within the pedestrian area. The operation was triggered by an anonymous tip indicating the presence of a frequent drug dealer among the passersby.
The officers, arriving on the scene, identified the man — a non-EU citizen — sitting on a bench.

It's truly sad that places like Salerno's seafront become the scene of violence and drug dealing. Police presence is essential to ensure safety, but it's also important to educate young people about drugs and crime.
