Paupisi - Signs of hope are finally arriving from the Neuromed clinic in Pozzilli, where Antonia, the 16-year-old girl who was injured in the head by her father Salvatore Ocone during the Paupisi family massacre on September 30, is being treated.
According to the latest medical bulletin released this morning, her condition shows a slight but significant improvement: the young woman "currently has a tracheostomy, is breathing spontaneously, with stable vital signs and initial signs of awakening."
However, the motor deficits on the right side remain, and the doctors are awaiting the results of a follow-up MRI scan to monitor the evolution of the neurological picture.
The tragedy of Paupisi
On September 30, Campania and the entire country were shocked by a terrible family massacre: in the countryside between Mirabello and Ferrazzano, in the province of Campobasso, the Carabinieri found the 16-year-old girl dying next to the lifeless bodies of her 15-year-old brother Cosimo and her father, who was later resuscitated and arrested.

Waiting and hope
After days of silence from the hospital, today's update rekindles hope for the young survivor, who is breathing on her own and showing signs of neurological recovery. Her condition remains delicate, however, and the prognosis is not yet known.
Meanwhile, the father is being held in Benevento prison, where he is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation as part of proceedings for aggravated double homicide.
The community of Paupisi and the entire Sannio region remain waiting, suspended between grief and hope: that of a young girl who, against all odds, is fighting to return to life after one of the most dramatic episodes in Campania's family history in recent years.
