Naples – A trivial traffic dispute escalated into a violent assault along the Naples ring road. State Police have charged a 34-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement, with assault.

The incident occurred in recent days, on the stretch of road between the Fuorigrotta and Agnano junctions. According to the reconstruction by officers of the Fuorigrotta Highway Police Subsection, a motorist from the province of Potenza was traveling with his family to take his daughter to the university in Monte Sant'Angelo when he was suddenly attacked after an argument in traffic.

Due to the heavy flow of vehicles, the man had been forced to slow down and, noticing a dangerous maneuver by another car that had suddenly entered his lane, he had signaled the behavior by honking his horn.

A reaction that unleashed the fury of the driver of the other vehicle: the 34-year-old abruptly stopped the car, got out and, ignoring the cars in the queue, reached the other driver.

After opening the door for him, he repeatedly hit him in the face, throwing him onto the asphalt before getting back into the car and fleeing.

The scene lasted only a few seconds but did not go unnoticed: the victim's daughter, still in shock, managed to photograph the attacker's license plate.

Thanks to that detail and a swift investigative effort, Highway Patrol officers quickly identified the perpetrator, who had a criminal record. The man was reported to the judicial authorities for assault.

The attacked driver, who was rescued on the scene, suffered bruises and facial injuries but is not in danger of life.

The episode, investigators emphasize, represents yet another case of violence linked to so-called "road rage," the growing aggression on city streets, often triggered by trivial reasons and exacerbated by traffic and daily stress.

This news is truly sad and makes us wonder how people can react so violently. It's incredible that a simple argument can lead to such a serious physical attack, especially in front of families and children.
