The company's sole director, a 76-year-old man originally from Naples, was charged at large with illegal waste management in violation of the Environmental Code. The operation is part of the extraordinary controls to combat illegal dumping that has plagued the Caserta area for years, with the aim of stopping the waste trafficking that fuels pollution in the iconic Land of Fires area.

This article is very worrying, but I wonder how it's possible that similar situations continue to occur in such a crucial area. We need more controls and a better strategy to prevent similar incidents in the future.
