Benevento – A procedural breakthrough has been made in the drug dealing case that last July led to the arrest of two men found in possession of a large quantity of narcotics in the Benevento area. The Public Prosecutor at the Benevento Court, granting the defense's request, has ordered the release of the vehicle involved in the operation.
The car, owned by a rental company in the Caudina area, had been seized following the arrest of Ciro Immobile, 28, and Andrea De Gennaro, 61, both from Benevento.
The kidnapping at Castel del Lago
The two men were stopped by law enforcement near Castel del Lago. During a search of the vehicle, officers found and seized approximately 330 grams of cocaine under the seat, a significant quantity that led to the immediate arrest of the two for possession with intent to sell.
The car, which was found to have been rented from a Caudine company, was immediately seized as evidence.

In recent days, Vittorio Fucci, the rental company's attorney, filed a motion to release the vehicle from seizure. The defense's argument, based on the company's lack of involvement in the crime committed by the renters and the need to return the vehicle to its rightful owner, was deemed valid.
The prosecutor, after evaluating the evidence and legal arguments presented, ordered the vehicle's release, returning it to the ownership of the Caudina rental company.
Despite the car's release, the criminal proceedings against Immobile and De Gennaro for drug trafficking continue.

It's interesting that the prosecutor decided to release the car, but it remains to be seen how the drug dealing case will develop. There are many legal aspects that must be considered for justice to proceed.
